HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
The Session
Photo sessions with me are relaxed and casual. The first thing I will try to establish is your goal for the photo session. A strong headshot? Full length “model”-type shots? Something with a favorite prop? Your chosen college jersey? Candid laughing shot? Something unique? Whatever it is, let’s start with that.
Having been in front of the camera many times myself, I know how much work this is for you and how important it is to get a great shot. I have lots of experience posing clients to highlight their best angles and looks. Relax and have fun, I am confident we’ll capture the energy and charisma that makes you, you!
What to wear
I suggest you wear solid color clothing. Prints, patterns and strong textures distract from your face. Solid colors in brights, darks or in some cases white work well. Remember, this shot will last forever and you want to be sure to capture yourself at this time, but also not wear something you’ll look back on years later and cringe about. Darker colors will reduce your size if that is a concern. If you wear black, we can shoot you on a dark background and highlight your face only or we will shoot with a gray or outdoor background to contrast with the black. Most of all, be comfortable!
Makeup
Photo enhancing programs I use will help even skin tone so you don’t need a lot of makeup for your session. Just wearing your normal daytime amount is enough. Girls, if you do wear makeup, be sure it is a matte finish, not a shine-based product. Really! No matter what you see on TV, music videos or magazines, shiny stuff doesn’t do you any favors. Guys, if you wear a jacket, don’t put it on till the last minute so we can keep you cool and perspiration-free once in front of camera.
Before...water, water, water
Please drink plenty of water in the days before the shoot. Being fully hydrated enhances the glow of your skin and the clarity and vibrancy of your eyes. If you have any food allergies or something that makes you just not feel your best, avoid those foods a few days before. Be sure to brush your teeth before you arrive. Bring your toothbrush and toothpaste if you need to touch up before the session.
Extras...
Is there anything else that really makes you feel relaxed and good? Music? Send me your favorite artists. A friend? Bring him/her along. Most of all, I want you to have a good time and get great shots.
Investment
My fee for high school seniors is $450 per session and is due the day of the shoot. My high school session includes only the casual shots, NOT your senior yearbook picture with drape or tuxedo. Sessions usually last from 45-60 minutes. We’ll have fun and get some great shots. I won’t quit until I feel I’ve got you at your best! Sessions only include the shoot, see more information about digital images below.
Your session fee includes:
• any pre-consultation you need with me about clothing or look
• a full outdoor session, at my home, or on location within 5 miles
• post-production and processing of your photos
• a web-based slideshow you can share with family and friends
• five high resolution digital images suitable for web posting, yearbooks, printing, invitations, etc.
Purchasing
After the session, you'l receive an online slideshow and online gallery of images to review. You will choose your five digital images included in your high school senior fee. You can share your beautiful slideshow link with family and friends. All photos are available in color and black and white. I usually process a mix of these so you can see what the different variations look like.
Printing: I can helping with printing, or you can just receive your five digitals and do your own printing. Additional full resolution digital images (beyond the five you choose for your package) can be purchased for $40 each.
A little help
A word about “enhancing photos” -- when I do post-production of your photos, I’ll look for any discrepancies in skin tone, scrapes (something always happens the day before a photo session, right?), blemishes and wrinkles, etc. My goal will be to make you look how you look on your best day ever. Don’t hesitate to talk to me in advance about fixing something, I am happy to.
I love my work and am looking forward to our time together!
